Designing the complexity: Materials Colours Textures. The project as a research tool

5/26/2016

The collaboration between Oikos and Marco Piva continues, this time in Venice for the inauguration of the installation “Designing The Complexity - Materials Colours Textures“. Opening in conjunction with the 15th International Architecture Exhibition, the installation covers the theme of the project as a process of both functional and aesthetic research and invention.

Vicky Syriopoulou, Oikos Colour Designer, worked closely with Marco Piva, to look closely at the architects' specific design requirements to develop the ideal textures and colour shades to best exalt his design concepts. A collection of 7 new colours will be presented in Venice with a customised chromatic scale. The installation is set up within the Scuola vecchia della Misericordia ("Old School of Mercy"), and illustrates the vision of the phases of the concept from the design of the project, the selection of materials, the technical design and the phases of on site realisation right up to the final result.
