Technical Qualities
SILKOS by Oikos is a line of exterior coating in three
finishes at different grain size SILKOS TORINO, can give
a smooth finish, SILKOS MILANO and SILKOS GENOVA,
that can give either an even or gravelly plaster finish. They
have excellent resistance to atmospheric agents, maintaining
the vapour permeability of the support and giving a high
level of water repellency. Thanks to the products formulation
of acryl-siloxanic binders in water dispersion, selected
sand and marble grains (max 1 mm and 1.5 mm) SILKOS
MILANO and SILKOS GENOVA are characterized by
a good filling power living the possibility to cover over
slightly neve surfaces and to achieve a prestigious esthetic
finish.They prevetn the formation of mould and algae.
They can be used as finshes on all types of wall surface,
on high diffusion and de-humidiyig plasters and they are
also suitable for use on thermal insulation facade systems.
In the even that is necessary that the products prevent the
formation of mould and algae to an even greater extent, it
is reccomended to add the indicated additive STERYLPLUS.
SILKOS have a low Environmental Impact and is firendly to
both humans and the environment.
Ideal Use
Exterior walls, facades, cement conglomerates, particularly
indicated for use on high diffusion or de-humidifying
plasters and also for thermal insulation facade systems.
Surface Preparation
Surfaces must be dry, fully mature and even. Imperfcetions
should be eliminated. New plaster must be left to mature
for at least 30 days in order to allow the complete
carbonatation of the support. Carefully brush or strip the
surface to remove all loose or flaking parts or any material
that is not soundly attached; In the case of restoration
works, water infiltratrions or leaks must be repaired before
application. Apply the prmers NEOKRYLLor BLANKOR by
OIKOS for all the above mentioned supports or, for high
diffusion or de-humidifying plasters, use DECORSIL PRIMER
or DECORSIL PRIMER PIGMENTATO by OIKOS. Wait 8-10
hours before applying the finish products.
Application Method
SILKOS TORINO:
apply by brush or roller, two coats
of SILKOS TORINO by Oikos diluted with 15 ÷ 20% of
drinkable water. Wait 6 hours between coats.

SILKOS GENOVA:
it is ready to
use. To obtain the gravelly finish, spread a coat SILKOS
MILANO or 15 using an inox steel trote, applying the
product in an even manner and in thickness dictated
by the products grain size; imediately after, using the
same tool, proceed to smooth over the surface in circular
movements to obtain the final effect. For the troweled
plaster finish, finish the application with a sponge
trowel (art.137) instead of the inox steel trowel.
The Finishes
To give walls a wash effect, once the surface is dry it is
possible to apply as a finish a coat of VELDECOR by OIKOS.

SILKOS TORINO: acryl-siloxanic resins in water
dispersion, high coverage fillers, titanium dioxide,
inorganic pigments, preservatives against the growth
of mould and algae and additives to aid application
and formation of the surface film

Toxicological Data
The product is free of heavy metals such as lead or
chrome. It does not contain toxic solvents, aromatic
or chlorides. There is no risk of any dangerous
polymerisation. The product is considered to be a
non‑dangerous substance if used in the technically c
manner. Normal cautionary measures for the handli
water based paints are advised. No special arrang
are required for the storage, movement and transpo
of the product; the containers, residue, eventual spil
material should be cleaned up using absorbent iner
material such as sand, soil etc. etc. and then dispos
in accordance with the regional and national regul

BLANKOR by OIKOS to improve adhesion and to
surface absorption uniform. Before applying the fini
wait 8-10 hours. On high diffusion or de-humidifyin
plasters, apply a primer such as DECORSIL PRIMER
DECORSIL PRIMER PIGMENTATO by OIKOS.
After 8-10 hours apply a coating such as SILKOS
MILANO/GENOVA by OIKOS.
